Before you book
Yes, advance booking is required. We need your personal details for insurance purposes before the tour, and spaces are limited across both our 2-seater and 4-seater buggies.
During peak season in Mijas we fill up quickly, so we strongly recommend booking as early as possible to secure your preferred date and time.
You must be 18 or over and hold a valid driving licence to drive a buggy. Passengers of any age are welcome as co-pilots, as long as they are accompanied by an adult and are not driving.
Yes. All drivers must hold a valid car (category B) driving licence. You will need to bring it with you or have a clear photo of it on the day.
Without a valid licence you will not be permitted to drive.
Absolutely. You do not need any previous off-road experience to enjoy a Mijas Buggys tour. Our guides will give you a full briefing and vehicle introduction before you set off, and they lead the route throughout so you always know where you are going.
The Can-Am buggies are intuitive to drive and our routes are designed to be enjoyable for all experience levels.
Yes. We offer both 2-seater and 4-seater Can-Am buggies, making our tours suitable for couples, families and larger groups. When booking, simply select the buggy size that suits your group.
Yes. Children of any age are welcome as passengers. Our 4-seater buggies are ideal for families, giving everyone a comfortable seat for the full guided tour.
Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times and are not permitted to drive.
Our guides speak English and Spanish. If you have any specific language requirements please get in touch before booking and we will do our best to accommodate you.
The tour
No, and this is worth knowing before you arrive. Our guided routes above Mijas combine off-road sections, including dirt tracks and mountain trails, with on-road connecting sections that link the route together and take you to the best viewpoints.
This mix of terrain is what makes the experience so varied and enjoyable. If you are expecting a purely off-road experience, our tours may not be quite what you had in mind, but most guests find the combination of surfaces makes for a much more interesting and scenic drive.
Yes. Mijas Buggys is fully licensed to operate both on and off road. Every guided tour includes a combination of off-road trails and on-road sections, and our Can-Am buggies are built to handle both with ease.
No. Every departure must be accompanied by one of our expert local guides. This is a requirement for safety, insurance and licensing reasons, and it also means you get the most out of the routes. Our guides know the terrain above Mijas inside out and make the experience far better than going it alone.
We offer two main tour options year round – the two-hour and the three-hour guided tour. We also offer seasonal tours like the one-hour Sunset Tour which runs from May to September.

Lunch is not included as part of the tour. We do provide a bottle of water for each buggy to keep you going on the trail.
There are good options nearby for lunch or refreshments after your tour and we are happy to point you in the right direction when you return.
Our departure point is located a short drive from both Mijas village and Fuengirola on the Costa del Sol.

On the day
Drivers must bring a valid driving licence on the day, either the physical card or a clear photo on your phone. Without it you will not be permitted to drive.
Passengers do not need to bring a licence.
Make sure to always plan for the weather, bring sunscreen!
Closed-toe shoes are a legal requirement for all drivers. Sandals, flip flops and heels are not permitted. All guests must wear a t-shirt or suitable upper clothing throughout the tour.
Our routes include off-road dirt tracks so some dust is part of the experience. We recommend comfortable clothing you do not mind getting a little dusty.
Goggles and bandanas are available to rent or buy on-site for extra comfort on the trail. We also recommend checking the weather forecast before you arrive so you can dress appropriately for the conditions.
A 35% deposit is required at the time of online booking.
The remaining balance is paid on arrival at our Mijas base on the day of your tour.

Yes, Marbella Buggys has a third party insurance for accidents.
However, you must drive carefully as the buggies are not insured for damage caused by you. If you damage the buggies you will have to pay for the repairs.
